Atmospheric Tribology: Steel-steel contacts in various gaseous environments

In this event, Dr Janet Wong will discuss impact of gas environment on lubricated contact, the role of gases in lubricating dry contacts and the possibility of additivating gas to reduce friction and wear.

About The Speakers

Janet Wong is a Reader in Tribology and Mechanochemistry in the Tribology group, Mechanical Engineering Department, Imperial College London. She is a specialist in interface phenomena, additive technology and nano-tribology. She has pioneered the application of fluorescence spectroscopy and imaging which examine in-situ lubricants at tribological contacts. Her research focuses on additive film formation and lubricant rheology, in order to enhance machine durability and lubricant performance.
