In this live event, Prof David Nowell will discuss the compliance of engineering surfaces, their prediction in smooth contact models and show experimental result verification of models.
About The Speakers
David Nowell has been Professor of Machine Dynamics at Imperial College since October 2017. Before this he was a University Lecturer at Oxford for nearly 30 years. He is the co-author of two books on contact mechanics and fretting fatigue and has over 200 journal publications and papers in published proceedings. He was involved with the Rolls-Royce UTC in Solid Mechanics at Oxford from 1990, until 2017 and has now taken over as director of the R-R UTC in Vibration at Imperial College.
